Answer: If we cancel a tour due to weather or water conditions, you will not be charged. You will have the option to reschedule for the next available spaces. Our captains will make the final decision as to weather conditions. Remember a few passing rain showers are normal in the tropics and rain is more likely in the center of the island, and to the west. We watch the weather stations carefully, and the conditions on the east coast – Fajardo area may not be the same as where you are. Please don’t make the mistake of deciding not to come if it’s raining where you are, as you will be charged if the trip goes out. If you have any questions about the weather conditions, please call us to be sure.

Answer: We take several measures to reduce our impact on the environment. Our plates, cups and even cutlery are made from corn starch and not from plastic. We no longer serve tuna because of the ecological disaster being caused by overfishing. Our boats always take a mooring or anchor on the sand, never on the reef or in sea grass beds. We educate our guests to not stand on or touch the reef because that kills the coral. Instead of dumping waste into the ocean, our boats use the facilities at the marina. We are part of the Puerto Rico Blue Flag program, which sets strict criteria in regards to environmental protection. More information about the program can be found at www.blueflag.org

Answer: Answer: The destination is the biggest difference between our trips.
Culebra is an island about 18 miles away from the coast. Our trips to Culebra are aboard our high speed power catamarans, not the sailing catamarans. You should know how to swim and be comfortable in the water, as it can be about 50-60 feet to swim into the beach. The snorkeling sites in Culebra are also in deeper water, ranging from 5 to up to 30 feet deep.
Icacos is a small uninhabited island just 3 miles from the shore. We offer this trip primarily on the sailing catamarans, but also we often can use the power catamarans for this trip. We are able to anchor up close (in about waist deep water) to the beach at Icacos island, so you do not have to be a strong swimmer. The snorkeling sites in this area are shallower, in about 5 to 15 feet of water.
Answer: Generally they are not, however guests should know how to swim and be comfortable in the water. Some guests who are non-swimmers might opt to stay onboard the boat and watch the fish through our underwater windows. Upon making a reservation, you must inform us if anybody in your group has any back or heart problems or is pregnant, as the power boat trips can be bumpy as we ride over the open water.
Answer: Yes, children are welcome aboard our trips! (However, we do not recommend the Culebra trip or Vieques trip for children under three). Any of our trips to Icacos are well-suited for children of all ages! Your kids will especially love the water-slide and the underwater windows on our sailing catamaran East Wind. For the adventurous little tines – we have kids snorkeling gear, and our crew can give instructions in the shallow waters at the beach.
Answer: Any of our catamarans are available to charter privately for your special event! They all have different capacities. We can tailor your trip to suit your needs, whether you want something simple or a BBQ lunch with open bar or an upscale sunset dinner party.
Answer: This will depend on which catamaran you will be on. Weekends tend to find the boats more full than weekdays, and slow season also tends to find the boats less full. But the numbers can vary. For smaller capacity we have the Zatara sailing catamaran or the Eco Isleño power cat. See boat information on website for capacities.
Answer: We do not allow children under the age of three on our Culebra or Vieques trips, and as well but welcome all ages aboard our trip to Icacos!
Answer: Our trips leave the dock at Puerto del Rey Marina, and return to the same location. We generally cannot drop you off at any other location.
Answer: You are welcome to bring your own gear. Many people are used to their own mask and snorkel, (but there is not discount for that).

Answer: For our trip to Culebra, (or the Zatara sailing cat) check-in begins at 8:45am and we request that our guests arrive no later than 9:00 am. The boats will depart at 9:30am.

Answer: “No shows” or cancellation made within 24 hours of the trip time will be charged in full on credit card on file, even if you make the reservation within that period. You must make sure to speak to someone or receive an email response; if you leave us a message, please be sure you get a reply from us. We can reschedule you at $25 per person, providing there is availability. For our night trips you can cancel by 12:00 noon of the day before trip date.

We have first aid equipment and rescue equipment on board all our boats and all our crew members are trained in first aid and CPR. But if evacuation is necessary, it can be 30-45 minutes to get a rescue boat back to the mainland. There are limited medical facilities on the island of Culebra and Vieques.
